Our 2010 - 2011 Season
Cincinnati Music Theatre is please to announce its 2010-2011 Season. The season balances the classic nostalgia of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man with the Jazz-age tribute The Drowsy Chaperone.
Season tickets are on sale now. See our Ticketing Page for details.
Fall 2010 - The Music Man
There’s Trouble in River City. Trouble with a capital “T.” When con man “Professor” Harold Hill drops in on River City, he sets to work - convincing parents he can teach their children to play musical instruments and running off with the money to be used for instruments and uniforms before anyone catches on to the fact he really knows nothing about music at all.
Hill’s plans are foiled when the unexpected occurs - Love. Harold falls for the town Librarian, Marian Paroo, who snubs him.
Will the Law catch up with Harold Hill? Will Love redeem him? Find out in when CMT presents this Classic American Musical.
Spring 2011 - The Drowsy Chaperone
This “Musical within a Comedy” pokes fun at theatre and theatre goers. The show takes us back to the era of 1920’s Jazz through the eyes of a die-hard musical theatre lover who upon playing his album of the 1928 hit musical The Drowsy Chaperone brings the show and it’s cast back to life.
This zany Broadway sendup won five Tony Awards including Best Book and Best Score. CityBeat critic Rick Pender said it best, “Every time you think Chaperone couldn’t get any loonier, it does. And that’s the fun of it.”
